Off Leash K9 Training, Miami · Private One-on-One Lessons
Dog Obedience Training in Miami
No group classes, no treats-in-pocket bribery. Private lessons with a professional trainer teach your dog to obey the first time — outside, around distractions, and eventually off-leash. By the end of the basic package, your dog listens on command in the real world, not just the living room.
- ★ 5.0 rated on Google
- E-collar & training leash included
- Marker + praise + e-collar system
The 4-Lesson Basic Curriculum, Lesson by Lesson
Four private lessons over four weeks. Each command is taught, then extended — meaning your dog holds it until released, not just for a second.
- “Come,” “Sit,” and “Extended Sit.”Recall and a sit your dog holds — the foundation everything else stands on.
- “Place” and “Extended Place.”Your dog goes to a spot you point at — a bench, a chair, a paddleboard — and stays there until released.
- “Heel” — loose leash walking.Walks that don't dislocate your shoulder, right beside you.
- “Down” and “Extended Down.”Plus “Off” — the command that corrects any unwanted behavior.
Go on to the advanced lessons and your dog adds extended-distance obedience (50+ yards), “watch,” “through,” “front,” “stand,” and more — the full command list lives in our glossary of terms & commands.

About the E-Collar (It’s Not What You Think)
The e-collars we use are made directly for Off Leash K9 locations and are not shock collars. Every package includes one — with a two-year warranty, completely waterproof (this is Miami, your dog will get wet), and a 3/4-mile range. It arrives at your first lesson along with the training leash.
Why Private Beats Group
Group classes teach your dog to behave in a room full of dogs holding treats. Private lessons teach you — why your dog does what she does, and how to handle her in your real life. That’s the Off Leash K9 Training method across 130+ locations.
After the Lessons
“My 11 month old GSP Whiskey just finished the basic course. He went from being on the verge of totally out of control to a well mannered dog. I would highly recommend my trainer and Off Leash to anyone who has a dog that needs manners.”
“Zoe just wouldn’t listen to me… She barked at other dogs, pulled the leash, and just ignored my commands. She and I just got back from a relaxing walk. Zoe paid attention to me, not other people or animals. Worth the money to have a well behaved dog.”
Obedience Training FAQs
How much are private obedience lessons in Miami?
Off Leash K9 Training, Miami obedience packages run $375 for the single-lesson starter, $650 for the 4-lesson Basic Obedience program, and $1,000 for the 8-lesson Basic & Advanced program. Every package includes the e-collar and training leash.
How old does my dog need to be for Basic Obedience?
Basic Obedience at Off Leash K9 Training, Miami starts at 5 months, due to a dog's growth and socialization window. Younger pups start with the puppy programs — consultations, AKC S.T.A.R. classes, and puppy board & trains.
Will this work on my breed?
All dogs, all breeds, all issues — regardless of breed, size, shape, or age, most dogs can be trained to have amazing obedience. Off Leash K9 Training, Miami trains household dogs to the same level of obedience as police and military working dogs.
What if I can't get to you — do you come to me?
Yes. Off Leash K9 Training, Miami offers the same basic and advanced curriculum as in-home training across Miami-Dade — 4 lessons for $850 or 8 lessons for $1,400, done at your home.
What does "extended" mean in Extended Sit or Extended Down?
Your dog holds the position until released — an Extended Sit means sitting and staying until you say the release cue, not popping up after two seconds. It's the difference between a trick and real-world obedience.
